One shortcut

My screenshots folder was hundreds of files named by date, and I could never find anything in it. So I made folie, named after the architectural folly, a building with no practical purpose. Press ⌘⇧7 anywhere, drag a box, and the capture is filed with the page's real typefaces and five colours sampled from its pixels.

Closed vocabularies

Every capture gets one of nineteen components and one of thirteen styles. I closed the lists on purpose, because free tags drift into hundreds of synonyms and search stops working. Search reads everything, hex codes included, so #0f172a pricing is a real query. A guessed font is marked as a guess.

Rediscover

I wanted old saves to come back without me going to look for them. Rediscover shows one capture at a time with three choices, delete, favorite or keep. Insights shows what I actually save, as a grid of weeks across the full card.

folie library: search everything, component tags, a masonry of captures
folie insights: capture activity grid and what you collect by component and style
Capture card: a grabbed pricing page with its tags, colour swatches, fonts and a note, then save or discard
Rediscover: one capture at a time with delete, favorite and keep on the arrow keys
Settings: capture shortcut, launch at login, API key field and the browser extension for fonts
Current folie icon: the same leaves on a blue panel set in a black frame
Profile card: captures kept, days and sites, and a bar of the colours you reach for
