His reels

The site is built around an old music player. I took the look from his own reels: every video in his Drive broken into frames, everything on black so the footage carries the page, nothing rounded. The homepage opens straight on the player, which carries his name on its own screen.

The zoom

Scrolling pushes you into the player until its screen is the browser window, and you land on the rest of the page, not a new route. Scroll back up and it reverses into the device. There is no enter button. The scroll is the way in.

A 48 frame reel band

Further down, one of his reels plays as you scroll: 48 frames scrubbed by your scroll position, with a camcorder timecode taken from his own overlay art. It is silent, stops when it is done, and downloads nothing until it is about to come on screen.

whats ur #?

Joining his list looks like a 2007 text thread, delivered stamp and all. Your number goes out as a sent message and "saved. talk soon" comes back. Live at lucasp007.com.
